GHOST GIRL- Cerita novel ini dimulai ketika seorang siswi SMA,Charlotte Usher seorang murid yang tidak memiliki teman dan berharap dia dapat menjadi populer di sekolahnya untuk memikat hati Damen Dylan, cowok idamannya. Damen adalah satu-satunya cowok yang terkeren di sekolah Charllote. Namun, disamping itu Damen sudah memiliki pacar, yaitu Petula Kensington cewek ketua cheerleaders sekolah, dia adalah  cewek terpopuler di sekolah Charlotte. Petula memiliki adik yang bernama Scarlet Kensington. Scarlet adalah seorang cewek yang cuek dan gaya nya yang gothic.

Who knows? Disaat Charlotte bahagia karena ia dapat bekerja sama dengan Damen untuk mengerjakan proyek Fisika dan ia telah berjanji pada Damen untuk mengajarinya Fisika, ia meninggal di ruang Fisika karena ia tersedak permen berbentuk beruang saat memperhatikan Damen. 

Ia terbangun setelah 7 hari dari kematiannya. Dia pikir ia akan masuk surga, namun ia harus masuk dalam sekolah kematian. Di sekolah kematian ia berteman dengan Pam si Piccolo, di dunia sekolah kematian setiap hantu memiliki julukan, seperti Mike si Metal. Pelajaran tentang kematian diajarkan oleh Mr.Brain. Guru Charlotte. Dan ada ketua kelas yang bernama Prudence, ia diam-diam membenci Charlotte.

Masalah datang bukan hanya di dunia nyata, dalam dunia kematian pun ada masalah. Rumah para hantu, Howthorne akan dijual, dan kalau sampai rumah itu dijual hantu-hantu tidak akan ke dunia selanjutnya. Maka, semua hantu bekerja sama untuk menakut-nakuti orang-orang yang akan membeli rumah itu. Demikian Charlotte, ia seharusnya mengikuti rapat untuk melancarkan misi. Tapi ia sedang bingung karena ia ingin mengikuti pesta dansa dengan Damen. Siapa sangka? Seorang manusia yang masih hidup dapat melihat Charlotte, yaitu Scarlet. Akhirnya, Scarlet membantu Charlotte dengan cara yang diketahui Charlotte pada saat membaca buku diary kematian. Yaitu dengan merasuki Scarlet. Tapi dengan cara itu, lama kelamaan Scarlet juga jatuh cinta pada Damen dan dimata Damen ada dua sosok sifat Scarlet yang berbeda, yaitu sifat Scarlet sendiri dan sifat Charlotte. 

Dalam novel ini kita dapat melihat keegoisan Charlotte yang ingin mewujudkan keinginannya tanpa memperdulikan masalah yang ada di Howthorne. Namun Charlotte sadar bahwa ia harus membantu teman-teman "hantunya" dan ia sadar bahwa ia dan Damen ada di dunia yang berbeda.
